Salary Scale and Benefits
As per Public Administration Circular 10/2025 and applicable government regulations.
The appointment is permanent and pensionable, subject to a three-year probationary period and the applicable government service conditions.
Educational Qualifications
Pass six subjects in one sitting, with credit passes in Sinhala/Tamil/English, Mathematics and two other subjects.
Pass at least one subject, excluding General English and the General Common Test.
NVQ Level 3 in Computer / Information and Communication Technology or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.
At least six months of experience in computer data entry activities.
Age and Other Requirements
Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years as at 20 November 2026.
Eligible date of birth: 20 November 1991 to 20 November 2008, inclusive.
Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens, meet the required character and fitness conditions, and possess all required qualifications by the closing date. They must also be able to undertake duties according to departmental service requirements, including day or night shifts.
Examination and Selection Process
Selection is based on the combined performance in the written examination, structured interview and practical examination.

Duration: 2 Hours
Maximum Marks: 100
Minimum Pass Mark: 40%
Additional educational qualifications: 30 marks
Additional vocational qualifications: 35 marks
Interview performance: 5 marks
Total: 70 Marks
Accurately typing and printing a given document: 10 marks
Time taken to type and print: 10 marks
Correct spelling: 10 marks
Total: 30 Marks
Candidates obtaining at least 40% in the written examination are considered for shortlisting. Up to twice the number of available vacancies may be called for the structured interview based on written examination merit.
