Educational Qualifications
Applicants must satisfy the following educational and professional requirements:
- A degree in Ayurveda, Siddha or Unani medicine from a university recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
- A five-year medical degree followed by one year of internship or hospital training.
- Registration with the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Medical Council.
- Work experience: No additional experience is required.
Other Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Must have good character.
- Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the post.
- Must be willing to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
- All required qualifications must be completed by 16 November 2026.

Salary Details
Selection Procedure
Recruitment will be based on the relevant university merit lists issued by the University Grants Commission. Applicants graduating in different academic years will be considered according to the applicable merit lists. A general interview will be conducted by the appointed selection board.
Terms and Conditions of Appointment
- The appointment is pensionable, subject to future government policy decisions.
- New appointees will be subject to a three-year probation period.
- Appointments will be made according to merit order and available vacancies.
- Officers are required to serve at their initial work station for two years. Transfers are generally not granted during this period.
- Appointments are subject to the relevant service minutes, public service rules, establishment code and other applicable regulations.
