Expert on Gender, Women Empowerment, GBV, Population & Aging

📢 Applications are now open for National Individual Consultant – Team Member 02 under the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Sri Lanka.

📌 Position Details

Organization: United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Sri Lanka
Position: National Individual Consultant – Team Member 02
Specialization: Gender Equality, Women Empowerment, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Population & Aging
Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka (Field Travel Required)
Contract Type: Individual Consultancy
Duration: 30 Working Days (July 2026 – November 2026)

🎯 Key Responsibilities

Support the Gender Thematic Evaluation of the UNFPA Country Programme 2023-2027.
Conduct Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
Participate in field data collection and validation activities.
Provide technical expertise on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.
Contribute to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Sexual & Reproductive Health evaluations.
Support stakeholder consultations, workshops and presentations.
Assist in preparing evaluation reports and recommendations.

🎓 Required Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Gender Studies, Women Studies, Human Rights Law, Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field.
7-8 years of experience in evaluations, research, assessments, M&E, international development or humanitarian programmes.
Strong knowledge of Gender Equality, Women Empowerment, GBV and Population Issues.
Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Excellent analytical, report writing and communication skills.
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of Sri Lanka's development context.
UN or International Organization experience will be an added advantage.

🗣 Language Requirements

Excellent English proficiency.
Sinhala and/or Tamil language skills required.
Fluency in all three languages will be an added advantage.
