SLTB Flying Squad Officer Recruitment 2026
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for recruitment to the Post of Flying Squad Officer on a contract basis at the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB).
According to the vacancy advertisement, 50 Flying Squad Officer vacancies are available in the Flying Squad Division at the Head Office of the Sri Lanka Transport Board.
The Flying Squad Officer post involves checking and supervising work personnel who are on duty on bus routes. Applicants who have legally left the Sri Lanka Army, Navy or Air Force will receive special consideration as stated in the official advertisement.

Educational and Other Qualifications
- Applicants must have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects in one sitting with at least four Credit passes, including Sinhala / Tamil and Mathematics.
- Applicants must have passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in at least three subjects, excluding the Common General Paper.
- Applicants must have followed a Computer Course of not less than six months recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.
- Applicants should be between 18 and 45 years of age.
- Applicants should be in good health and must be a Sri Lankan citizen.
- Applicants should be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties entrusted to them and be able to serve in any part of Sri Lanka.
- Applicants from the Sri Lanka Army, Navy or Air Force should have legally left their permanent or volunteer service with a clear service record.
Salary, Allowances and Benefits
- Cost of Living Allowance of Rs. 17,800/-.
- Overtime allowance, travelling allowance and other applicable allowances will also be paid.
- Employee contribution to the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF): 8%.
- Employer contribution to EPF: 12%.
- Employer contribution to the Employees' Trust Fund (ETF): 3%.
- Flying Squad Officers will be deployed for duty according to a work roster after recruitment.
Recruitment Process
- Recruitment will be carried out according to Sri Lanka Transport Board procedures.
- Eligible applicants will be called for an interview.
- Selected applicants will be referred for a medical examination.
- Successful candidates will be required to follow a training course before recruitment.
- After appointment, a travelling pass will be provided for travel to and from the service station within a radius of 30 km.
- The Board of Directors of the Sri Lanka Transport Board retains the final decision regarding recruitment.
