KDU Officer Cadet Intake 2026/2027 – Apply Online

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to join the Undergraduate Cadetships Programme 2026/2027 conducted by General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU). Selected candidates will be trained as Officer Cadets and upon successful completion will be commissioned into the Sri Lanka Armed Forces.

🎓 Degree Programmes Available

• Faculty of Defence & Strategic Studies – Strategic Studies & International Relations (3 Years)
• Faculty of Medicine – MBBS (5 Years)
• Faculty of Engineering – Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Marine, etc. (4 Years)
• Faculty of Law – LLB (4 Years)
• Faculty of Management & Social Sciences – Management, Logistics, Finance (3–4 Years)
• Faculty of Computing – Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT (4 Years)
• Faculty of Criminal Justice – Criminology (3 Years)

⚠️ Note: Duration includes 01 year military training at Army/Navy/Air Force academies.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a Citizen of Sri Lanka
• Age between 18 – 22 years by 31.12.2025
• Must be Unmarried
• G.C.E A/L 2024 or 2025 (MBBS – 2025 only)
• Eligible for University Admission in Sri Lanka
• Passed Common General Test (Minimum 30 marks)
• Credit (C) pass for English (TESOL requires B pass)
• Must satisfy Physical & Medical Requirements

• No postal applications accepted
• Application Fee: LKR 2000 (First Programme)
• Additional Programme: LKR 500 each

• Selected candidates must sign a bond with the Government
• Mandatory military training required
• Commissioned as Army/Navy/Air Force Officer after graduation
• Service period required after training
