1. Graduate Research Officer Vacancy 2026
The Institute of Allergology and Immunology invites applications from qualified candidates for the post of Graduate Research Officer on contract.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Science, Medicine, Biomedical Science, Immunology, Microbiology, Life Sciences or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in a research, clinical or laboratory setting in immunology or allergology.
- Familiarity with research ethics requirements and Good Clinical/Laboratory Practice guidelines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and preferably basic statistical or data-management software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English, including scientific writing.
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Appointment Period
The appointment will initially be made for one year and may be extended based on performance. The notice states that an attractive performance-based salary scheme will apply.

2. Laboratory Attendant Vacancy 2026
Applications are also invited for the post of Laboratory Attendant on contract at the Institute of Allergology and Immunology.
Qualifications – Option 1
- Passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects with at least two Credit (C) passes in not more than two sittings.
- Must possess a proficiency certificate not below NVQ Level 2 or 3 issued by an accepted Technical or Vocational Training Institute relevant to the functions of a Laboratory Assistant.
Qualifications – Option 2
- Passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects with at least two Credit (C) passes in not more than two sittings.
- At least one year of working experience in a relevant field with industrial skills.
Other Requirements
- Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Must be physically and mentally fit to satisfactorily perform the duties of the post.
- Must be of good character.
Method of Recruitment
Recruitment will be made through a trade test and structured interview.
Age Limit
Applicants must be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years of age.
