Tuition Classes Banned Ahead of 2025 (2026) G.C.E. O/L Examination
Official notice issued by the Department of Examinations (Tamil)
The Department of Examinations – Sri Lanka has announced a nationwide ban on conducting tuition classes and examination-oriented activities targeting candidates sitting for the 2025 (2026) G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.
This restriction will take effect from midnight on February 11, 2026, and will remain in force until the completion of the examination period, in order to ensure fairness and transparency in the national examination system.
The 2025 G.C.E. O/L Examination will be conducted from February 17 to February 26, 2026 at 3,545 examination centres islandwide.
🚫 Prohibited Activities During the Ban Period
- Conducting tuition classes, revision lectures, or workshops
- Organising subject-based seminars or exam discussions
- Printing or distributing so-called “guess questions”
- Publishing exam-related content via print or electronic media
- Advertising through posters, banners, leaflets, or social media
- Possession of prohibited materials during the restricted period
