Educational Qualifications
Assistant Lecturer
Applicants should generally possess a special degree with a First Class or Second Class Upper Division in the relevant field from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission. Candidates holding a relevant general degree with the required class and a recognized postgraduate qualification may also qualify. Engineering applicants should possess a recognized four-year engineering degree in the relevant discipline.
Demonstrator
A recognized bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Agriculture, Information Technology or another relevant field is accepted. Relevant NVQ Level 7 qualifications may also be accepted. Certain NVQ Level 6 applicants must possess the post-qualification experience stated in the advertisement.
Accountant
Applicants should possess HNDA, an intermediate-level professional accountancy qualification such as ICASL, CIMA or ACCA, or a degree in Management or Commerce, together with at least three years of post-qualification experience in accounting and finance at managerial level.
Assistant Registrar
A degree from a recognized university with two years of experience in office administration or management in a public institution or statutory board.
Library Assistant
A recognized degree in Library Science, or a Diploma in Library Science with at least three years of working experience in the library of a higher educational institution.
Management Assistant
Applicants should have passed six subjects at the GCE O/L examination in not more than two sittings, including credit passes in Sinhala, Tamil or English Language, Mathematics and two other subjects. Applicants must also have passed the required GCE A/L subjects and completed a course in Information Technology, Typing or Stenography.
Farm Manager
HND in Agriculture or an equivalent qualification not below NVQ Level 5, together with two years of relevant experience.
Technician
GCE O/L qualification with six subjects in not more than two sittings, including at least two credit passes, an NVQ Level 4 qualification in the relevant field and two years of relevant experience.
Driver
Applicants must meet the educational and vocational requirements in the advertisement and possess a valid heavy-duty driving licence with at least two years of driving experience.
