The National Diploma in Plantation Extension Management (NDPEM) – NVQ Level 05 is a professional academic programme conducted by the National Institute of Plantation Management (NIPM) in Sri Lanka. This diploma programme aims to enhance the academic and professional skills of plantation extension personnel and individuals interested in the plantation sector. The course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical training in plantation crop cultivation, management, communication, and extension programme implementation. The programme is conducted through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, practical sessions, and group discussions. Classes will be held both online and onsite during two weekends per month. The programme will commence in May 2026 and is open to plantation field staff, factory staff, extension officers, and other interested applicants.

Eligibility / Qualifications

• NVQ Level 4 Certificate in the relevant field OR
• Passed G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) in any stream
• Those eligible to receive NVQ certification
• Candidates without A/L but with plantation sector experience can obtain NVQ Level 3/4 through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) system
