The High Commission of India in Colombo has officially announced new government job vacancies for 2026. Applications are invited for the posts of Assistant, Senior Clerk, Junior Clerk, Junior Clerk cum Receptionist, Librarian, Stenographer and Sweeper.
Candidates with educational qualifications and working experience can apply by submitting their CV along with educational certificates, recent photograph and NIC/Passport copy.

Educational Qualifications
- Graduate with good computer knowledge
- English language proficiency required
- Sinhala and Tamil language knowledge preferred
- Librarian applicants must hold BA (Hons) in Library Science
- Stenographer applicants need media/cultural/digital communication experience
- Sweeper applicants require G.C.E O/L qualification and housekeeping experience
Working Experience
- Assistant – 7 years experience
- Senior Clerk – 5 years experience
- Librarian – Minimum 3 years experience
- Stenographer – 2 years experience
Selection Process
Candidates applying for Vacancy 01 to 03 must face a written examination followed by an interview. Applicants for Vacancy 04 (Sweeper) will be selected through an interview only.
