The Department of Social Services, Sri Lanka, under the Ministry of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment, has invited applications from eligible Sri Lankan citizens for Preschool Teacher, Office Assistant and Attendant vacancies in the Kurunegala and Ampara districts.
These appointments are intended for District Skill Development Day Care Centres serving children with disabilities. Recruitment is on a temporary basis for one year, with payments calculated according to the daily allowance system.

Educational Qualifications & Age Limits
01. Preschool Teacher
Age Limit: 18–30 years.
- G.C.E. O/L: Six subject passes in one sitting, including credit passes in a language, Mathematics and two other subjects.
- G.C.E. A/L: At least one subject pass, excluding the General Common Test.
- A certificate from a government-registered institution for a preschool education course of at least three months.
- Relevant experience is considered an additional qualification.
02. Office Assistant
Age Limit: 18–45 years.
- G.C.E. O/L: Six subject passes, including at least two credit passes, obtained within a maximum of two sittings.
- No separate professional qualification is specified.
- Relevant work experience is considered an additional qualification.
03. Attendant
Age Limit: 18–45 years.
- G.C.E. O/L: Six subject passes, including at least two credit passes, obtained within a maximum of two sittings.
- Relevant attendant or caregiving training from a government hospital, dispensary or registered private hospital, supported by a certificate.
- Relevant experience is considered an additional qualification.
Age is calculated as of the respective application deadline. Applicants must meet all requirements in the official notice.
Daily Allowance & Service Conditions
Preschool Teacher:
Daily allowance calculation: (Rs. 41,317 + Rs. 17,800 cost-of-living allowance) ÷ 30.
Office Assistant / Attendant:
Daily allowance calculation: (Rs. 37,725 + Rs. 17,800 cost-of-living allowance) ÷ 30.
The posts are temporary for one year. Eligible candidates will be selected based on available vacancies and merit at a structured interview, as described in the notices.
