Archaeological Assistant III & Watchman III Recruitment 2026

The Department of Archaeology under the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs has called applications for the recruitment of 515 vacancies islandwide. Eligible Sri Lankan citizens can apply for the posts of Archaeological Assistant III and Watchman III.

Salary Scale: PL-01-2025

Starting Salary: Rs. 40,000/=

Maximum Salary: Rs. 61,880/=

Salary Scale: 10x450 – 10x490 – 10x540 – 12x590

• Must have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.
• Must have passed six (06) subjects in not more than two sittings.
• Must have obtained at least two (02) Credit passes.

• Professional qualifications related to the field will be considered an added advantage.
• Relevant work experience will be considered a special qualification.
• Applicants should be physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere in Sri Lanka.
• Applicants must possess excellent character.

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 45 Years

• Must be a permanent resident of the relevant province during the last 05 years.
• Residence must be certified by a Grama Niladhari Certificate.
• All qualifications should be fulfilled on the closing date of applications.
