Educational Qualifications
Applicants should have passed six subjects at the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in not more than two sittings, with at least two Credit passes including Sinhala or Tamil Language.
Professional Qualifications
- Must possess a valid driving licence for heavy vehicles issued by the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience as a driver.
- Driver experience must be supported by documentary evidence.
Physical Requirements
- Must be physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere in Sri Lanka.
- Must have satisfactory eyesight during both day and night.
- Eyesight must be confirmed by a medical certificate.
- Minimum height requirement: 5 feet.

Salary Scale: Rs. 43,280 – 10×490 – 10×540 – 10×590 – 12×630 – Rs. 67,040
Salary Code: AC-PL-3-2025
The Gazette states that the initial salary step is Rs. 43,280, together with applicable allowances. If recruitment takes place before 01 January 2027, the salary payable under the applicable transitional schedule is stated as Rs. 40,834.
Selection Method
Recruitment will be made through a Professional Examination and a Structured Interview.
