Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) – Sri Lanka

01. Environmental Scientist – Qualifications
Applicants are required to possess an appropriate qualification in areas such as Environmental Science, Environmental Management or Environmental Technology.
Depending on the qualification route, relevant post-qualification experience, postgraduate qualifications and/or appropriate professional membership may also be required.

02. Technical Assistant (Laboratory Works)
Applicants should generally have the required G.C.E. O/L qualifications, including the specified passes in subjects such as Mathematics, Science and languages.
Applicants are also required to have the relevant G.C.E. A/L subjects and a suitable technical Diploma or Certificate qualification of at least NVQ Level 5 in the relevant field, subject to the official requirements.
03. Laboratory Technician
Applicants should have passed the required number of subjects at the G.C.E. O/L examination, including subjects such as Sinhala/Tamil, English, Mathematics and Science, according to the official advertisement.
Successful completion of a relevant technical Certificate course of at least NVQ Level 4 from an institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) is also required.
04. Laboratory Helper
Applicants should satisfy the required G.C.E. O/L qualifications, including Sinhala/Tamil and Mathematics as specified in the official vacancy notice.
A relevant technical course of at least six months / approximately 720 hours and an accepted NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification are also required, according to the vacancy requirements.
Salary & Other Benefits
Selected applicants will be placed on a suitable salary point depending on their qualifications and experience, in accordance with the applicable MSD Circular 01/2025.
The Bureau will also make contributions of 12% to EPF and 3% to ETF as stated in the vacancy advertisement.
Method of Selection
Selection will be made according to the order of merit determined by an Interview Panel. Candidates should therefore ensure that all required qualifications, experience and supporting documents are properly provided.
Candidates who do not possess the required qualifications and experience as at the closing date may not be eligible. Applications that do not satisfy the requirements or do not include the necessary educational, professional and service documents may be rejected.
