Deputy Chief Internal Auditor

Job Description

The Bank of Ceylon is seeking an experienced auditing professional to support the Chief Internal Auditor in delivering independent assurance services and overseeing audit engagements.

The selected candidate will contribute to strengthening the Bank's risk management, internal control systems, corporate governance, compliance and audit effectiveness.

Academic & Professional Qualifications

Applicants must hold full professional membership of at least one of the following institutions:

• Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), preferably with Fellow Membership.
• Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW), preferably with Fellow Membership.

Additional Preference: Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and MBA-level university education in Management from a university recognized by the UGC of Sri Lanka.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 08 years of post-qualifying experience in auditing at senior managerial level in a large organization locally or abroad.
• At least 03 of those years should be at senior managerial level in a large financial institution.

Required Skills & Attributes

• Strong knowledge of IT-based auditing techniques.
• Familiarity with Internal Audit Standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
• Proven experience in people management and interacting with senior management and boards.
• Understanding of corporate governance practices in the banking industry.
• Knowledge of IFRS and Islamic Banking practices will be an added advantage.

Age Limit

40–55 years as at the application closing date.

Terms of Appointment

• Permanent appointment equivalent to the grade of Assistant General Manager (AGM).
• Subject to a probationary period of six months.
• Salary and benefits applicable to the AGM grade of the Bank.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution and completion of audit engagements.
• Evaluate risk management and internal control systems.
• Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements.
• Strengthen governance and operational control frameworks.
• Evaluate the reliability of financial, managerial and operational information.

Bank of Ceylon is seeking a dynamic, innovative and results-driven professional to lead the Bank's digital transformation strategy as Chief Digital Officer.

The position involves driving innovation across banking services, strengthening digital platforms, introducing modern financial technologies and improving customer experiences through digital solutions.

Educational Qualifications

A Bachelor's or Master's Degree from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka in any of the following or related disciplines:

• Information Technology
• Computer Science
• Engineering
• Business Administration
• Finance
• Related disciplines

Preference: A Master's Degree in Digital Transformation, Data Science, Technology Management or Project Management.

Professional Certifications – Added Advantage

• Professional certifications in digital or technology leadership.
• Certified Digital Transformation Officer (CDTO).
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or Scrum certifications.
• AWS, Azure or GCP cloud certifications.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 05 years of experience in leading enterprise-wide digital transformation in a banking or regulated financial services organization.
