The University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka has officially released the minimum Z-Score cut-off marks for university admission for the academic year 2025/2026.
These minimum Z-Scores have been issued based on the results of the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination 2025 after re-scrutiny. Students can now check the minimum Z-Score required for selection to different courses of study offered by Sri Lankan state universities.

A Z-Score cut-off mark is the minimum Z-Score shown for selection to a particular course of study at a particular university. The published cut-off marks differ according to the course, university and district.
Students must compare their official A/L Z-Score with the value published for their district and preferred course. A student should not compare only the course name because the same course may be offered by several universities with different cut-off values.

What Does “NQC” Mean?
In the official Z-Score tables, NQC means No Qualified Candidates.
According to the notes published with the cut-off marks, NQC may appear because:
- The district quota for the particular course has already been filled by students from that district.
- The available places for the course and university have been filled by candidates with higher Z-Scores from other districts.
- No candidate from that district satisfied the minimum admission requirements for the relevant course.
