Legal Officer Vacancies 2026 – National Housing Development Authority (Colombo)

The National Housing Development Authority (NHDA), under the Ministry of Housing Construction & Water Supply, invites qualified legal professionals to provide legal services under a service contract at the Head Office in Colombo in accordance with Government Procurement Guidelines.

Eligibility Requirements

✔ Supreme Court Attorney-at-Law.
✔ Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.
✔ Minimum 03 years of work experience in court proceedings after being sworn in OR 03 years of experience providing legal services in a public sector institution, statutory body, or recognized private institution.

Scope of Responsibilities

✔ Appear before Courts, Tribunals, Arbitration Boards, Commissions, and statutory bodies.
✔ Conduct cases filed by or against the Authority.
✔ Prepare legal documents, draft deeds, conduct disciplinary inquiries, and provide legal advice.
✔ Perform all legal services on behalf of the National Housing Development Authority.

Contract & Remuneration

Payments will be made as per Government procurement guidelines. The expected monthly fee must be mentioned in the application. The contract period is one year on a service contract basis.

Selection Method

Selection will be made through an interview conducted by the institution according to Government procurement procedures.
