Educational Qualifications

G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L)

Applicants should have passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects at one sitting.

The required results should include Credit passes in subjects specified by the official recruitment notice, including Mathematics, the relevant language and the required additional subjects.

G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L)

Applicants should have passed at least one (01) subject at the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination, excluding the Common General Test and General English.

Applicant should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Applicant should possess a good character.
Applicants should satisfy the required physical and mental fitness standards.
Candidates should be able to serve in any part of Sri Lanka when required.

Applicants should be not less than 25 years and not more than 35 years of age as at the closing date of applications.

Salary Scale

MN 01-2025

Rs. 45,230 – 10 × 540 – 11 × 630 – 10 × 890 – 10 × 1,190 – Rs. 78,360

The salary scale specified in the Gazette becomes fully applicable from 01 January 2027, subject to the relevant government salary provisions.

Main Duties of an Assistant Hostel Warden

Maintain discipline, safety and welfare of students in the hostel.
Supervise students entering and leaving hostel premises.
Assist with hostel food supplies and related records.
Supervise the storage and distribution of food items.
Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of hostel facilities.
Attend to students who become ill and arrange necessary assistance.
Protect government property and student property.
Assist in maintaining water, electricity and other hostel services.
Perform other duties assigned by the Head of the Institution.
